REBUILDING FROM HURRICANE OTIS
In just 11 months, two devastating hurricanes—Category 5 Otis and Category 3 John—unleashed a total of 4 feet 3 inches of rain, flooding the Acapulco area and ripping roofs from homes and buildings. We’ve repaired about 50% of the roof so far, but we still need to complete another section over the main sanctuary and a long section for the children's classrooms. We are also redesigning the roof, as the steel structure was destroyed. We plan to switch to a Z-bar truss system with a concrete roof deck instead of sheet metal.
