OUR STORY
The Gospel is the Power of God for all who believe! Our passion is to proclaim this powerful message of God’s love and power to the poorer and more remote villages in Mexico and plant/build churches where God has opened the door through the preaching of the Gospel. Over the past 35 years we have built 7 churches and planted 3 new churches in the state of Guerrero: Puerto Marques, Llano Largo, Col. Del Pri, Tres Palos, Renacimiento, El Tamarindo and Las Lomitas along with a 1 year Bible Institute. El Tamarindo and Las Lomitas are in remote villages down the coast. El Tamarindo is in a mountain village 4 hours away and Las Lomitas is populated by indigenous church members 2 hours away.
In 1983, we pioneered a church in Portland, Maine along with 2 other couples and in our 7th year we were invited to go on a medical mission trip to Mexico. On the last day of our trip, God spoke to us and asked us to serve Him as missionaries for the next 2 years. We sold everything we owned, packed our suitcases and moved down to Mexico with our 2 children, Aaron and Andrea (ages 9 & 7).
In our first year we planted a church in the village of Tres Palos and after 3 months we were pastoring the church, preaching and leading praise and worship. Mike was also put in charge of building a new church in the Col. Del Pri, transforming a small hut made of adobe, palm branches and a tar paper roof into a steel reinforced concrete building and this year we are now adding a 2nd story.
2 years quickly transitioned into 10 years of conducting medical mission trips, open air evangelistic crusades, hosting Teen Mania drama teams, building 3 additional churches in Puerto Marques, Llano Largo and Renacimiento. Since then, we have planted and built 2 additional churches, 1 in El Tamarindo (a mountain village of about 95 families) and Las Lomitas, a village with many indigenous families.
This year is our 35th year of continuing to serve the Lord as missionaries in Mexico. We have a staff of 4 fulltime pastors, and we continue to oversee the 7 churches and host 3 missions trips each year. God has demonstrated His love and the power of the Gospel over the years by saving the lost, healing the sick and setting free the oppressed.
